There is no other signature brand for handbags that I like more seeing this year but that of Gucci’s. Most of their runway bags this 2010 are exuding in modern glamor and sexuality.
This year’s set of Gucci handbags are luxurious in style and completely more detailed. Majority of the collection was with a G logo that is interlocking and heavy on ostrich. The best thing about this new fall designs is the slightly curved lines that work well with the brand’s elegance.

And the winner is… for the most expensive purse in the world to date is a unique bag created by Japanese jewelry house Ginza Tanaka. It’s a Diamond Studded Platinum Handbag—over 2,000 diamonds totaling 208 carats. The strap can be taken off and worn as a necklace or bracelet. It also features an eight carat pear-shaped diamond that can be worn separately as a brooch, how cool!! Some sites say it’s priced at $1.63 million, some says it’s priced at $1.9million. It doesn’t matter which price is correct. Did they really expect someone to actually use this bag?!
This doesn’t stop my quest for the world’s most expensive handbag. I’m pretty sure another designer bag might just dislodge Ginza Tanaka’s purse from being known as the world’s most expensive purse soon.

And so I thought, Urban Satchel holds the title of being the most expensive purse. Chanel “Diamond Forever” Classic Bag came into picture which is priced at $261,000. Only thirteen of these pricey Chanel bags were created with only five available stateside. The alligator-skin bags featured clasps set with 334 diamond (3.56 carats) in the shape of Chanel’s trademark double-C logo. If you think Leiber is already expensive, well, Lana Marks released its 2007 limited edition Cleopatra Clutch bag for $100,000. It’s made with metallic silver alligator skin and 1,500 fully cut, faceted black and white diamonds set in an 18-karat white gold frame. Each year’s bag is signed and numbered. These bags are so exclusive that Lana only allows one star per year to carry her handmade diamond studded designs down the crimson carpet, since 2004.

While this was retailed at $37,000 USD, the highest amount paid for one of these bags was $64,800 USD, sold at a Doyle New York auction in April of 2005. This black crocodile-skin features silver hardware, 14-karat white gold closure plates paved with 174 diamonds and an additional 310 diamonds on the lock. The 484 diamonds weigh in at 14.11 carats.
