Shoe Trend: Ballet Flats
January 16th, 2010 by nixxiIf you’re not too fond of stilettos or just need a day-to-day shoe you can slip on and be comfortable in, the idea of ballet flats probably appeal to you. Comfort is a trend for a change and these flats are where everything starts.
Ballet flats come in different colors, sizes, styles. Some have buckles and have a flat toe cap, like those en pointe shoes ballerinas wear. But the trend this year is to choose rich colors like wine, purple, or striking colors such as yellow and gold or deep greens. Materials also vary so choose wisely. They come in patent leather, velvet, leather, suede, etc.
Some are embellished like this one from Tory Burch, with the signature Tory Burch logo. Actresses and models have been spotted with this particular shoe.

Some have ribbons or buckles or have varied materials on the shoe.
If you prefer sensible shoes for everyday wear or when doing your errands, the ballet shoes will be your savior while still keeping up with the trend.
