Hermès Leather Garden Party Bag

January 25th, 2010 by daphne reyes

Hermès Leather Garden Party Bag

Garden Party Bag, Hermès red negonda leather with chevron canvas lining, silver and palladium Clou de Selle snap closure, 14″x 10.25″ x 6.5″ $2,625.00
Infomation above is noted as per their website as of today, January 25, 2010.
Every woman loves bags. It’s a given. And if you’re a woman, you know what Hermès is. Well, maybe not all knows why the price is such for such a simple bag but just so you know, Hermès does not use assembly lines; only one craftsman may work on one handbag at a time, hand-stitching each individual piece. Due to the labour-intensive nature of Hermès production methods and the use of rare materials (sometimes including exotic skins as well as precious metals), one bag can take 18 to 24 hours to create. When Hermès leather goods require repair, owners are encouraged to bring the item back to any Hermès store where it can be shipped to the factory in Paris for repair or reconditioning. If that’s not enough explanation to you as for the cost; Those outfitted by the company to some extent include: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, Sammy Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, Romy Schneider, Catherine Deneuve, and Grace Kelly. Hermès became more popular thru the “Kelly Bag” which was named after Grace Kelly as she was seen a lot carrying it.
Question is, how much would you spend on a bag?

Trends: The Boyfriend Shirt

January 6th, 2010 by msj484

ass

We girls have borrowed a lot from the boys. The wife-beater tees, their baseball caps, even their Nike SBs. Now, we borrow the shirt off their backs, literally. The new trend is called The Boyfriend Shirt.

bssThere are so many ways you can wear this trend. You can pair it with skinny jeans and some flats. Or with short shorts and a pair of gladiator sandals. The choices are endless. Be it casual chic or ruggedly tomboy, you can play up the look with simple accessories.

Since this is so masculine, remember to femme it up with some girly detail like a slim belt or undo a button. Or two.

Get warm with a Burberry Trench Coat

December 30th, 2009 by msj484

emma-watson-wearing-burberry-trench-coatBags, wallets and purses are not the only things Burberry is known for. The UK elite brand has also been synonymous for edgy and high-fashion trench coats. Burberry has in fact a claim for the invention of the trench coat, together with Aquascutum. History says that Thomas Burberry, who invented gabardine fabric, submitted the design to United Kingdom War office in 1901 for an army officers rain coat. To this date, the trench coat has not only served the function it was intended to by Thomas Burberry, it in fact has evolved into a must have fashion item during the chilly winter months.

Is Eco-Friendly Fashion Statement Too cliché? Not!!!

December 20th, 2009 by msj484

eco friendly dress 1

I just *heart* this new stint pulled by the Danish Fashion Institue last Dec.9. It was a showcase of fabrics made from, well, you guessed it – recycled materials. Now this wasn’t your usual eco-friendly apparel made from earth-toned and rich-textured organic materials. This is innovative recycling that can have the same smoothness of silk and glossy sheen of PVC. Even the names used to call the products were done by a real style-genius. Crabion, Ingeo, Ditto and Milkfiber, samples of new fashion-lingo, were the keywords heard in that event. Ingenuous materials like crab byproducts, corn scraps and even powder left over from boiled milk were used to show how traditional textiles can be replaced with innovative new ones. Talk about protecting Mother Nature, these guys really delivered!

Hats off to the show’s 20 designers from five Nordic countries and representative of retailing giants as H&M and Barneys. Each presented two looks made from organic cottons, silks, polyesters and recycled agricultural materials. Asymmetrical cocktail dresses, oversized joker-collared windbrakers and dresses in strappy bodice were just samples of styles the models strut on the runway.

I hope to see more of these soon in malls, too. Who knows what else they could come up with next time. With the buzz that multinational organizations have been creating on being eco-friendly, I’m pretty sure there’d be more of these.

There is always a Carrie Bradshaw in all of us

December 15th, 2009 by msj484

If you watched Sex and the City, you may know the reason why Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) can’t seem to get the right guy until Mr. Big finally realized that they were meant to be after all.

The real deal is because of her undying love for SHOES! Yes ladies, your stilettos and wedges can actually prevent you from getting that Mr. Right.

Recent studies have shown that women who are so into shoes spend more time shopping for one and spending for a pair rather than investing their time and money for the future husband. Each and every pair of shoe has a meaning to women. They can never forget the first branded shoe that they bought but they can easily forget the name of the boy that they first kissed.

Aside from that, shoe-natics are having a harder time ditching their old pairs compared to the feeling that they have when dumping their boyfriends.

Now that’s really something!

Lip Care during Cold Season

December 14th, 2009 by msj484

Extreme season such as summer and winter can bring benefits and also disadvantages to the skin. One part that is affected during the cold weather is the lips. As of now, you might be experiencing dry or chapped lips due to the temperature.

One of the most natural ways to prevent dry lips is to drink a lot of water and take foods that are rich in Vitamin E. You can also directly apply the serum inside the capsule by pricking the capsule with a clean needle.

You can also apply petroleum jelly or a lip balm in your lips while sleeping. If you will be attending a party the next day, make sure that you put ample amount of balm or Vaseline so that you will have a luscious or pouting lips when doing your makeup routine.

If Angelina Jolie can have it the whole year-round and so are you!

Fashion Illusion

December 11th, 2009 by msj484

Not all models have the height and the shape. It’s just actually a matter of creating an illusion that you are indeed slim and tall. So how about trying these tips and learn how to lose as much as 5 pounds, at least for a while (and in their eyes).

  1. Do not button your cardigan or your blazer to create more vertical lines.
  2. Always wear a scarf that has dangling vertical ends.
  3. Prefer outfits that are monochromatic.
  4. Never use big, chunky belts.
  5. Chokers are a No-No. Long necklaces can make you look taller from head to chest or waist.
  6. A no brainer: Wear heels. But make sure that the heel inch is comfortable for you.
  7. Opt for V-Neck tees or shirts to give an illusion of elongated neck.
  8. Big designs in clothes can actually make you look smaller.
  9. Combine your short clothes with long ones. Never wear everything that is long at the same time.
