Work at Home Mom

January 29th, 2010 by daphne reyes

In response to all who commented on my blog, I’d like to thank you all for having noticed me sharing my short insights with you. I really am proud to say that there are still women who sees her family as her priority and more important than anything else, that being a wife and a mother mother is the most honourable job in the world and it is worth the most to sacrifice for as Zihan has said. Marla, for someone who sacrifices her luxuries to be a better wife and mother is more than applaudable. And as “Totalwellness” has said, moms have excellent organization and time management and I believe that this is because of the amount of work we do at home that we have to juggle in a daily basis 24×7. It is manageable for us to be working from home. I hope for the best for all of us to succeed in this choice. Someone once told me that we work for our family, work should not be a hindrance to be with them.

Starting Out as a Work from Home Mom

Starting Out as a Work from Home Mom

I have worked behind a desk in an office for the 8-10 years. I finally decided to resign and stay home to take care of my husband and my kid. It was rough at first as I have pretty much lost my source of income but to my luck, someone hired me to work from home.
Women were once expected to do nothing but take care of her family by staying home. Times changed us. Most of us say that we work for equality but by doing this, we have sacrificed our priorities. Men are there to provide but in hard times, it just wasn’t possible for most.
I’m proud to say that I am one of the lucky few. Yes, I did sacrifice having lesser income coming in but I found that there are ways to little by little earn as much as I used to. Staggered and some unstable sources but for what it’s worth, I get to spend more time with my family.
In the past months, I have seen a lot of changes. For the con, less luxuries but that’s just it. For the pro’s, my kid has become more positive in his outlook in life. You know why? Because I’m there more to guide him. He has the security of having his mom to be his confidante first hand and not a random stranger. Another one of the pro’s, I get to cook for my family, prepare their snacks, and my husband and I and our son gets to have a home-cooked meal and bonding time during dinner. This is more than enough reason for me to continue on with where I am now.
I just wish the same for more women out there.

These are the latest boardshorts from Roxy. As you cans see, they’re geared for the beach fanatics out there who want a little fashion and color into their surfing getup. Roxy shorts are made of lightweight material and dry easily. They are durable and have extra snaps and ties so they wont come undone even in the strongest of waves.

The white one is an absolute cutie. I love the checkered colors on the sides and the small and simple Roxy logo on the hem. Its a must buy for beach frolicking. Who doesnt want to look cute while tanning?
