Beyonce’s New Scent

December 23rd, 2009 by msj484

Sexy and sultry Beyonce Knowles is going to launch her first signature perfume come 2010. For a celebrity as glamorous and captivating as Beyonce, the name chosen for her first scent perfectly matches this lovely singer – HEAT.  The name of the perfume connotes sensuality, a word often associated with Beyonce.

Heat - Beyonce

Tones of red and gold were used for the over-all look of the design not only for the ads but as well as for the look of the perfume itself. These are colors selected by no less than Beyonce herself. According to Ms. Knowles, she decided on these colors not only because they are likewise associated with fire and heat, but as well as for the fact that she is very passionate about her craft and that every time she does something, she always gives it her best.

Heat is made up of notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, blush peach, honey suckle nectar to name a few.

One thing is for sure, this scent is going to be a hit after it is introduced in the market. So, you think you can catch the fever? Watch out!

De Beers Forever Diamond Pendant

De Beers Forever pendant

De Beers Forever Diamond Pendant $700.00

Whoever said that diamonds are a woman’s best friend, has got it all right! A diamond stands for so many things that you just cannot put a price tag on. It is the precious stone perpetually used to symbolize undying love and devotion by couples, especially those who decide to bind themselves in the holy sacrament of matrimony. On the other hand, a diamond, for a woman who purchased it as a gift for herself; stands for her personal accomplishments and achievements. Regardless of what its personal significance of the things it could stand for, as the cliche goes – a diamond is forever.

A diamond is an ideal gift for one’s self. And since it is timeless, a diamond is the perfect heirloom for your very own little girl. If you don’t have one yet, then that’s fine, that just means you could still enjoy the cold feel of this De Beers Forever diamond pendant as it hangs perfectly on your neck.

Jimmy Choo’s JJ Sunglasses

Okay. I know it’s not the season to write about sunglasses but pardon me, folks, I am a certified sunglassesholic.  I can’t help it, they’re the ultimate fashion accessory to top any outfit.  A laid-back, street casual attire can definitely have a bit of zest with the right pair.  You can go anywhere sassy with basic jeans and white tops as long as you don that intricately designed Bvlgari shades.  But I’m not talking about that brand this time.  I’d go for my new fav’rite, the Jimmy Choo selections.

Love, love, love that JJ edition of Jimmy Choo!  It’s got an ultra chick, shiny black frames with an exquisitely designed temple knot in python effect material.  The arms tapers off from the temple to the hockey ends giving it a very svelte silhouette.  It finishes off with a metal Jimmy Choo temple logo and voila!  Sunglasses at its finest!

If you are considering getting a new pair of boots this winter, Jessica Simpson’s Over-the-knee riding boots. It comes in basic colors of dust suede, rugged brown leather and black leather that makes it easy for you to mix and match it with your different outfits. What’s great about this boots is the fact that it is so versatile it can actually go with different looks.

Although, if you are thinking of wearing it in the office, try to put on a trench coat for a more formal look. The stacked heel certainly makes it less ideal to be worn with short dresses and fitting slacks and tends to look better with jeans and other more casual attires.

Currently priced at $209.00

Another great feature of this design is the adjustable buckel as well as the over-sized cuff that gives you the option to fold it down or pull it all the way up. Absolute must-haves for hot equestrians or simply those who want to look like one.

Victoria’s Secret’s Cableknit oversized wrap sweatercoat – a fab find!

December 22nd, 2009 by msj484

A fabulous fashion find to keep you cozy and still glammed up this chilly winter would be Victoria’s Secret’s Cableknit oversized wrap sweatercoat. It comes in different calming colors of winter white, black, charcoal, blue and burgundy heather. The low V-neck cut and overwrap design is very classy and fashionable that you need not come up with a  flashy undershirt. In fact, doing so could make it ruin the look and make it seem more over-the-top. A plain V-neck or round neck top would best match this coat.

$49 USD

The buckle makes the sweater even more interesting. If you plan to use a necklace or a choker, I would suggest you stay away from the chunky ones. Long, thin chains could work best with this sweater. Make sure you pull up your hair if you plan to don a necklace for a more formal look.

Is Eco-Friendly Fashion Statement Too cliché? Not!!!

December 20th, 2009 by msj484

eco friendly dress 1

I just *heart* this new stint pulled by the Danish Fashion Institue last Dec.9. It was a showcase of fabrics made from, well, you guessed it – recycled materials. Now this wasn’t your usual eco-friendly apparel made from earth-toned and rich-textured organic materials. This is innovative recycling that can have the same smoothness of silk and glossy sheen of PVC. Even the names used to call the products were done by a real style-genius. Crabion, Ingeo, Ditto and Milkfiber, samples of new fashion-lingo, were the keywords heard in that event. Ingenuous materials like crab byproducts, corn scraps and even powder left over from boiled milk were used to show how traditional textiles can be replaced with innovative new ones. Talk about protecting Mother Nature, these guys really delivered!

Hats off to the show’s 20 designers from five Nordic countries and representative of retailing giants as H&M and Barneys. Each presented two looks made from organic cottons, silks, polyesters and recycled agricultural materials. Asymmetrical cocktail dresses, oversized joker-collared windbrakers and dresses in strappy bodice were just samples of styles the models strut on the runway.

I hope to see more of these soon in malls, too. Who knows what else they could come up with next time. With the buzz that multinational organizations have been creating on being eco-friendly, I’m pretty sure there’d be more of these.

MANGO AUTUMN/WINTER 2009/2010 COLLECTION

December 20th, 2009 by msj484

._Mango autumn?winter 2009 2010 Daisy Lowe

I want me some of these!!!  Mango’s autumn/winter 2009/2010 are my thing.  This season’s collection is inspired by my era, 80’s style minus the awkwardness in oversized pants and with a lot of glam and a dash of urban sophistication.  English model Daisy Lowe, who’s been spotted several times sporting a grunge or rocker look is this season’s endorser.  Just perfect!

This collection epitomizes all that is ‘80s.  From the tight, leather pants, short skirts with leggings, studs, accents and black leather jackets…..everything we’ve seen those ‘80s bratpacks wore in movies like the breakfast club and pretty in pink! Can’t wait to have ‘em!

I love the svelte figure of the Glam edition with its mini-dresses, epaulettes in leather fabrics  complete with studs and extravagant accessories.   But if you’re looking for some laid-back style with, of course, some haute-couture still, the Grunge edition is perfect for you.  It carries the very 80’s check prints with faded jeans, waistcoats and baggy cardigan.  Admit it, you missed the warmth you used to get from those loose cardigans.  Well, I did.  It brings back some sweet childhood mem’ries of crushes and flames:)

If it’s serious 80’s style you want, then go for the Rock edition.  It carries those very Michael Jackson fitted cropped black leather jackets with angle boots to match or high heels, skinny trouser or very short skirts with dark stockings and tops to match.

For that classic, elegant look, check out the Ladylike edition.  It showcases a perfect urban chic style with focus on large exuberant flowers with ankle boots in high heels, short coats, bright dresses teamed with leggings.

Whether you’re planning to wear these on an 80’s themed party or just your street smart usual do, can’t go wrong with these babies.
